Nokia teaser hints at Nokia X2 launch on June 24th
It looks like the Nokia X2, the company’s second attempt at an Android-powered phone, could be launching on June 24th. Nokia has sent out a teaser with the tagline “Green with envy”, and while the teaser doesn’t reveal anything, a previous rumor about the X2 going official in the last week of June pretty much confirms what we’ll see on the aforementioned date.
The X2 is expected to be a minor upgrade to the Nokia X, with the addition of a hardware home button being among the major changes. Its specs are expected to include a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, and 4GB of internal storage. The teaser confirms the phone will be launched in multiple colors, like the X and most other recent Nokia devices.
With devices like the Moto E in the picture, the X2 will have to be something special in order to woo consumers. Weak hardware and stripped down software made the Nokia X a poor device for its price, and unless Nokia can change things around with the X2, it will be hard-pressed to make anyone even a wee bit envious.
