Apple releases OS X El Capitan 10.11 open source code

On December 8, Apple officially released the latest version of OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.2. Soon after, a little more went out for developers.

This isn’t the first time that Apple has released the source code for one of its platforms, and it certainly won’t be the last, but it does follow on the heels of Swift, Apple’s programming language, going open source last week.
Apple has updated the dedicated page for its open source code, reflecting the recent addition of 10.11. It also includes several different developer tools, including for iOS and OS X Server, as well as past iterations of OS X 10.11 for the developers that might have a need for it.
